PRESS RELEASE: Gary Cordery Announces Additional Campaign Staff

Today, Republican candidate for Governor of Hawai’i, Gary Cordery, a successful businessman and entrepreneur, announced the addition of several new members to his growing team.
“I am proud to announce four new members to our team,” stated Cordery. “Patrick Davis and Sheila Medeiros will be co-campaign managers and Lydia Blaha-Valdiviezo and James Hutton, from Cutting Edge Comms, will be running our communications efforts. All four of these individuals bring unique and impressive skills to the campaign. I believe they will help us show the people of Hawai’i they have a candidate who will fight for them and make Hawai’i a leader among the states by shining a light on the many strengths that have been diminished for too long by its democratic leaders.”
Sheila Medeiros is currently the Lead Development Coordinator for a non-profit organization that focuses on STEM & Sports integrated programs for at-risk youth. She is responsible for the overall development of written grant proposals and applications to foundations along with support of operations. With a background and extensive education—including a Master’s in Human Resources and Bachelor’s in Business Administration—Medeiros is a marketing and business strategist with years of experience building, maintaining, and succeeding with international relationships. Medeiros is a decorated army veteran with over 36 years in the Army; 22 years in active duty and another 14 years with the Hawai’i National Guard.
Lydia Blaha-Valdiviezo was the Colorado Communications Director for the 2016 Trump Presidential Campaign, where she led communications for the campaign’s Colorado team. Succeeding the successful campaign, Blaha-Valdiviezo was offered the role of Communications Coordinator for the 58th Presidential Inaugural Committee (PIC). After Inauguration, Blaha-Valdiviezo was politically appointed at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in the role of Deputy Press Secretary. Blaha-Valdiviezo later led the communications and messaging departments for several non-profits, two of which focused on combatting global persecution and the third concentrating its efforts on shining a light on the dangers of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
James Hutton was appointed by President Trump to be the Assistant Secretary of Public and Intergovernmental affairs at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). He holds a Bachelor of Science from Oklahoma State University, a Master of Science from the National War College, and a Master of Arts from Webster University (St. Louis). Hutton is a combat veteran with three tours of service in Iraq and service in Germany, Kuwait, Bosnia, and Kosovo. He served nearly 27 years as an active-duty officer in the United States Army, retiring as a Colonel.

Gary Cordery is a servant leader.  Hawai’i needs a governor who is willing to fight for the people: someone who honors others first, pursues the truth, and protects the liberty of all.
