Founder And Owner Of Mākena CrossFit Endorses Gary Cordery For Governor
Today, Republican candidate for Governor of Hawaiʻi, Gary Cordery, a successful businessman and entrepreneur, was endorsed by founder and owner of Mākena Gym, Paul Romero.
Paul Romero is the founder and owner of Mākena CrossFit. Romero comes from an alpine climbing, critical care, adventure and ultra-endurance background. He has run 200-mile ultra marathons, climbed the Seven Summits, competed in Iron Man races, and more.
Despite the mandates in Hawaiʻi, Romero’s business resisted complying with the mask mandates, fighting to keep his gym free of any government overreach.
“I have so much respect for Paul, who fought tirelessly against the mandates attempting to change the very culture of his business,” stated Cordery. “Despite pushback and negative input from the liberal left and media, Paul remained secure in his convictions and continued to make sure his clients came first. I am proud of this endorsemeant and know I will be the Governor Paul, and so many in Hawaiʻi, need and expect me to be.”

As a small businessman and tax paying citizen of south Maui, I have deep concerns for the direction of Hawaiʻi. The past several years have caused me to reflect on matters that affect this delicate land. Quality leadership in government is absolutely essential, we are at an all-time tipping point.
I’ve listened to all the candidates, and it’s without hesitation that I wholeheartedly endorse Gary Cordery for Governor. This man has been involved in the freedom movement from the start. He has a deep understanding of the current status, and a detailed comprehensive action plan. Hawaiʻi needs Gary, and the time to act is now.
